Sigiriya Fortress | Was it Worth the $60 entrance fee? | Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

Sigiriya is referred to by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka, but at the same time, we personally know dozens of tourists who have chosen instead to visit the near by Pidurangala as it was both 10x less crowded and much less expensive for foreigners at just 500 lkr ($3) per person instead of 5,500 lkr ($30).

We decided to pay the $60 (11,000lkr) per couple to enter so we could show you if it's worth going to and what you'd be missing out on if you go the cheaper option. Let us know in the comments if you think it was worth paying 10x the price for to visit, rather than going for the Pidurangala Rock hike just opposite.
