This video is an introduction to a new video series called “Why You Should Change”

Put simply, this series centers around determining the impact (or lack thereof) of climate change on the human race, animal and plant life, and the Earth as a whole. If you want a comprehensive look at climate change, this is your video series! In later videos I also cover topics related to the environment that *aren't* climate change/global warming related. These videos explore how/if we, as individuals and as a collective, impact the changing climate. And, most importantly, it explores why we should change in relation to these topics. Or, in reality, *if* should we change.

If yes, how should we change to better the lives of ourselves and others? If no, then why is there so much pressure to change?

The series is split into two parts: Part 1: "The Politics" and Part 2: "The People." These two parts are divided into "Chapters" which will usually just be shown by video titles (i.e. "Intro and Policy).

The first video in the series gives an introduction to the "Why You Should Change" video series and an introduction to climate change in general. This video also goes over the politics around climate change. In particular, I present political policies (like the Paris Agreement, the Green New Deal, the Clean Power Plan, etc.) meant to combat Global Warming.

“People don’t like to change. Of course we all have instances in which we desire a brief switch in routine to escape the monotony of everyday life, but in reality, we enjoy staying comfortable. And really there’s nothing wrong with clinging to comfort and safety. It’s completely normal. Wanting a productive and balanced routine, or a comfy mattress, or tasty food, or anything else that provides stability isn’t wrong. The issue comes when we’ve established our snug lives and an obstacle comes our way, something that forces us to either change to meet the challenge, or be hit unnecessarily hard by the oncoming blockade. Sometimes we make the necessary changes and manage to side-step a collision, and in other cases, we get hit full force by inconveniences and learn a very valuable lesson. While it’s crucial we learn from our mistakes to grow, some worldly issues aren’t meant for us to take notes on; they’re meant to be trials that we either pass or fail.”

oh boy is this project a hefty one. it has taken me multiple hot minutes to even get remotely close to finishing the monumentally long video series, but here’s part one (of part one LOL)! hopefully some people will see it/like it/be helped by it/be on board for the rest of the series! even despite my questionable/low quality editing and horrendous audio! my upload schedule will likely be chaotic for this project but imma try to be more consistent since i at least have *most* of the really hard researching and script writing done. we out here.
