1966 Velocette Thruxton - Tanks Classics
Now before I start the introduction, I know the lighting isn't great sometimes, the audio is poor, my accent is hard to understand BUT it should get better the more I learn. Also I will be moving into a new, much bigger workshop soon which will help. The plan is to try and give you guys who are interested in Velocette motorcycles, some footage and information about these bikes and what goes on in the Velocette Workshop at Tanks Classics Ltd.

So, the bike. It is a 1966 Velocette Thruxton, full strip down and rebuild was undertaken including a lot of engine work as the cylinder head has had a squish band machined inside for the squish piston, shorter barrel and therefore increased compression ratio. In the end, the compression ratio on this engine was 11.1 : 1.
Full gearbox overhaul, suspension, magneto, dynamo etc etc. The full and complete restoration service when a bike comes through our workshop.
All our work is stove enamelled for the main frame and cycle parts, like it was originally, then painted for the larger flat surface parts like the petrol tank. I was really happy with how the bike turned out and it sounds really good with a deep thud from the Fishtail silencer.
