About Professor Rami Tamimi:
Rami Tamimi is an American doctorate student at The Ohio State University working towards his Doctor of Philosophy in Geodetic Engineering. With over 8 years of experience in the Land Development Industry, his experience revolves around traditional field surveying, civil design work using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and geospatial technology including LiDAR, SONOR, and Photogrammetric data accusation and processing with the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems or Drones. He is also a University Professor and creates instructional video content on YouTube.

Line - A line is a simple straight segment with two vertices. Both of these vertices can have x,y,z coordinates, and the line can slope vertically. Start by using the L command, locate the first vertex, and then the second vertex. The elevation of the line can be set in the Properties menu.

Polylines - A polyline is a connected sequence of line segments created as a single object. You can create straight line segments, arc segments, or a combination of the two. Vertices remain joined even after grip editing
Absolute line width (as an alternative to relative lineweight) that can be constant or tapered across a segment. Move and copy a polyline as a unit
Easily create rectangles and polygons as single objects. Smart application of non-continuous linetypes across vertices. Easy extrusion for 3D solids in AutoCAD. Several methods are available to change the shape and appearance of a polyline. When you select a polyline you can use grips to move, add, or delete individual vertices, and convert between arc and straight segments.

3D Polylines - A 3D polyline is a connected sequence of straight line segments created as a single object. 3D polylines can be non-coplanar; however, they cannot include arc segments. Start point of polyline
Specifies the first point in the 3d polyline. Endpoint of line. Draws a straight line from the previous point to the specified new point. The prompt is repeated until you press Enter to end the command. Draws a closing line from the endpoint back to the first point, and then ends the command. To be closed, a 3D polyline must contain at least two lines.

Feature Lines - these lines are 3D objects which can be used as grading footprints, surface breaklines, and as corridor baselines. For example, a feature line may represent an object in the drawing from which you want to grade, such as a swale or a ridge line. When you create a grading object, you can select the feature line as the grading footprint. You can draw feature lines, convert feature lines from existing objects, and extract feature lines from alignments or corridors.
