Thousands of people thronged the Kabul airport in a desperate attempt to flee the country. Scenes of horror unfolded at Kabul airport where at least two people fell off planes that had already taken off. Former President Ashraf Ghani was the first to leave, followed by ministers, diplomats and officials in the Afghan govt. But the Afghan citizens flocking to airports to leave the country are part of the privileged lot of the country’s population.
