Biden’s justification comes despite fear that the US exit will inevitably allow extremist Taliban to return to power. The ongoing process of US exit from Afghanistan has come amid Taliban’s offensive to gain more territory. The Taliban militants claim they now control about a quarter of nearly 400 districts in the war-torn country.
