Arduino Mini Getting Started - USB to Serial Communication

In this video I will be walking you through the steps needed to get started with an Arduino Pro Mini.

The first step is selecting a USB to Serial Communication module which you will use for your software transfer. I recommend the one linked above if you would like to support the show. You will also need to download the appropriate drivers for your module. Please click on the link below and select the appropriate driver for your operating system:

After doing so, you should able to start the Arduino IDE and select the correct board. Make sure to pay attention to the correct voltage and microcontroller configuration. Improper selection may cause damage to your board.

Finally, after the IDE has been launched, verify that you are seeing a COM port for your device and you are ready to start programming! You should be able to load any sketches you had on the Arduino R3 onto this board.
