MRUV 161: Odds and Ends for the New Year

Happy New Year! For the first update of the year we just have some odds and ends- no big projects or major work has been started. I did add a Yard Light Tower including lights- not my best work but it is lighted! I then show how I installed several telltales around the layout. This is a detail I have been wanting to add for quite some time, and finally decided to "git 'er done". I also added the proper (well, at least BETTER) switch plates for the turnouts in Lake City.

And trains be running! I finished off the video- actually about half of it- with a manifest running into Eugene Yard and even a bit of the North Yard Drill getting into the action. I wrap it up showing the issues I have with my Broadway Limited Pennsy J1a- a rather large 2-10-4 locomotive that really is at the limit of what I can run on the layout. In fact, it won't run in certain areas!

I want to wish everyone good health and better circumstances in 2021. I would like to say that 2021 can't be worse than the crappy year we just left behind, but knowing our luck...really, it CAN'T be worse. Right?
