Operations & Railfanning: South Yard and Coal Train

I am not ready (yet) to dig into another major project, so I just kicked back and had some fun running trains. I decided to work the coal dock and thought it may be fun to video the action. This proved to be a bit cumbersome as it was just me trying to handle the camera and the trains. I tried to capture how the South Yard operator tends to work, and then we follow an empty coal train from Eugene to Williamsport (staging).

This video is a combination of "railfanning" and "babbling". I also tried a few different views around the layout. It is challenging using a tripod and getting close enough to get realistic views, but I think it worked okay. Another hour of Pandemic Avoidance Pleasure.

To skip right to the coal train run, go to timestamp 36:13. Power for this run was a set of Broadway Limited F3's. They are very nice runners- I used the BLI "quick consist" option and the units run good together.
