A Kook with a Camera: May 9, 2020 River Surfing Highlights at Boise Whitewater Park!

Footage shot on the afternoon May 9, 2020, during the green surf wave at the Boise Whitewater Park.

River Surfing in Boise is a year around activity. While winter time flows are low, typically between 200-300 cfs, irrigation opens around April each year, raising water levels to 800-1500 cfs, and making for a perfectly shaped river surf wave.

The wave is managed by Boise Parks and Rec, and was down for just over a month due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but is now back, and as popular as ever.
