https://amzn.to/2XlYVoY We found this one while out on the route. It has a lot of detail and really good maps and information. Lots of fun illustrations. Author Jerry McClanahan is 66 lore.
https://amzn.to/2U4XNUS This is Ang’s “go to” guide book. If you can have only one, this would be the one she would choose.
https://amzn.to/2ErDxY6 Moon makes some great reference books, and this is one of them. Organized by state, it has the sequence and the right amount of information for each landmark. This is a great cross reference manual to use with the others.
https://amzn.to/2EqxrY6 This one is new to us, it has more general information in it than just Rt 66, It follows the path, but concentrates on food, lodging and shopping and not so much the historic points of interest. It is nice and compact, and has a ton of maps in it. I’m listing it because I showed it to you in the video. Not reccomended for hard core 66 exploring.
https://amzn.to/2EqyQOm Beautiful book for those wanting a vast coverage of the history of the route. Very detailed and lots of pictures old and new. This 75th anniversary edition was published in 2001, so the information regarding attractions that have come back to life since the route was decommissioned in 1985, is not there. Not a good in the field book, more of a coffee table book and for learning very detailed history junkies.
