Ubuntu Terminal Commands: date, ls, cat, and stat

This video provides a brief introduction to a few Linux commands. We use date a simple command with some output. Then we redirect that output into a file. The list command ls shows us what's in the current working directory. We look at adding some options like ls -a and ls -sail (which provides a fair amount of information about the files). Another command that provides file info is the stat command. The cat command displays the contents of the file. We ended by noting the difference between over-writing and appending when we direct the output of a command into a file.
