Literally saved a feral foal from a mud hole
This spring (2021) Jordan was out checking fence near a watering hole that feral horses & cattle have access too.. he thought it was unusual that the horses were hanging around & not taking off (as they usually do!) so he called Candice to come out with camera to get some photos for her 2022 calendar.. Only for this to Happen!!!
The main herd took off running as we neared the watering hole to get a few images of them, but two horses stayed behind... Weird..this is not normal.
The horses kept snorting and pawing, showing signs for us to stay back.
We circle down around this gully and come directly in line with Why the horses were staying near..
A new born foal was stuck in the mud.
you can tell by the amount of layers of dried and wet mud that the foal has been there for a while.
We had to take care and use caution approaching the foal as the mare was upset that we were getting close to her baby. The mare kept snorting and charging at us to back us away from the baby. There was no way we could just leave the foal. We had to carefully balance keeping the Mare and Stallion back far enough for Jordan to scoop the foal up and. not Scare them away and leave the baby for good.
Watch as it all unfolds.
At one point, Jordan is chased up the tree! the mare came charging on in to protect her foal - She was a wonderful and protective mother! doing what nature intends her to do - keep her baby safe.
This video was taken over the length of several hours.
once the foal was out of the mud, we rubbed it down to help gain feeling in its legs, and we made sure it was going to be healthy enough to stand. As well, we wanted to make sure the mare actually came back to take the foal and not to leave it there to die.
What an AMAZING and powerful experience this was for us.
We are so grateful that we were guided out there that moment to be able to be part of this moment.
another lesson we learnt, when a company phones to do an "interview" look into the fine print, as it was their sites that gained the 7millions views on this video and not ours....
Ahh well. Karma works in mysterious ways and we feel our calling is for the horses and only good will come off that.
If you feel inspired to donate to the foals, please use our

thankyou hope you enjoyed the moment.
