Sharing Our Ducati 1199R & Ducati Monster 1200S - Future Collectables & Just Plain Cool Motorcycles

In this video we take a detour from the car reviews to talk about our 2014 Ducati 1199R and Ducati 1200 Monster S. These are the two Ducati models I always wanted growing up, and while it took many years to get them, we appreciate them even more now.

In this video we discuss our thoughts on Ducati motorcycles in general, review the styling of both bikes, and take the 1199R for a brief smash. While we are too old to ride these bikes often, we do love looking at them in the man cave now. They always draw an eye or two and lead to a fun conversation.

A Ducati will always be an emotional purchase. Ducati’s are the Ferrari’s of motorcycles, especially in red as both of these are. Both these Ducati motorcycles are fast, loud, and drop dead sexy.

Unfortunately, owning a Ducati is not all positive. They do depreciate, they cost a lot to insure, and at the end of the day are very fast for the street. You can see the speeds we are able to hit in the Ducati 1199R without really pushing it. And thats not even in race mode…

The cost of a 2014 Ducati 1199R was $35,000. The cost of a 2014 Monster 1200S was about $15,950. With the upgrades they are a bit more but I was not the original owner on either one. I do show my older Ducati bikes from the Ducati ST4, Ducati 1098S and Ducati 899.
