The "Papillon Automate" by Van Cleef & Arpels is a watch that feels, through the power of ingenious mechanical complication, like it may be alive.

The watch is powered in two ways - by the automatic winding system that makes the butterfly's wings flap at random intervals up to 20 times per hour, or by a pusher that makes the butterfly's wings flap on demand. The number of times the wings flap is even dependant on how much you wear the watch.
