Coming Out for Beginners with Izzy and Lara

Lara Fitzsimons is a 17-year-old Dubliner and a member of BeLonG To Youth Services- an Irish Organisation which caters to young people aged between 14 - 23 who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Like many of us, Lara struggled during lockdown and reached out to BeLonG To as a way of becoming a part of a community and has been with them since July. 

Coming out can be one of the most daunting yet freeing experiences of a person’s life. Lara and our Shona Project Ambassador - Izzy Tiernan have both come out as part of the LGBTQ+ community the past few years. The two have many shared experiences and have joined forces to give you what we like to call “The Beginners Guide to Coming Out”. From the supportive moments and the not-so-supportive moments, Lara and Izzy show us how important it is to own your individuality, find your community, and to just be you.
