Landing Multiple Long-Term Conditions (MLTC) Research in the Health & Care System | Event
This event was hosted by NIHR and UKRI as part of the UKRI/NIHR ‘Tackling Multimorbidity at Scale’ Programme to support researchers in understanding how to effectively engage with and influence policy makers in the health and care system. Prof Chris Salisbury (University of Bristol) chaired the event.
Prof Lucy Chappell (Chief Executive of NIHR and Chief Scientific Adviser to the Department of Health and Social Care) provided a keynote address. Two panel sessions followed this keynote.
The first panel featured researchers with experience in implementing MLTC research. The second panel was comprised of policy makers from across the UK health and care system, who shared tips on best practices for engaging with and influencing policymakers in MLTC.
Breakout group discussions led to the plenary summarisation of the main facilitators and barriers to implementing MLTC research findings.
