From COVID-19 to malaria research in West Africa - Genomics at MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM
Since its establishment in 2017, the genomics core facility at MRC Unit The Gambia has played a critical role in training scientists and collaborators in West Africa, facilitating West African capacity-building in Genomics.
In December 2021, we were joined by Assistant Professor Abdul Sesay and Associate Professor Alfred Ngwa from MRC Unit The Gambia who gave us insights into how the core facility is used to support malaria research at the Unit and facilitate COVID-19 testing there and beyond.
