Cycle GB 2016 - Rider Profile: Ben

Ben Arthur from Benenden talks about preparing for Stage 2 of Cycle GB 2016 - a 300 mile cycling challenge from York to Benenden in September 2016. Ben’s motivation for taking part comes from wanting a physical challenge, and also from his personal experiences of people close to him who have suffered through different mental health concerns. Mindful of the challenge ahead, he is building up his training regime so that when the start day arrives, he is as ready as he can be!

Cycle GB 2016 is raising funds for Benenden Charitable Trust and SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health). Across 2 stages, the event is a 600 mile charity bike ride from SAMH’s home in Glasgow to the Benenden Hospital in Kent. The event seeks to increase awareness of mental health and raise £50,000 which will be split equally between the charities.
