Czech Republic’s €24.4BN Mega-Canal
The Czech Republic is considering building a 300 kilometer long canal, uniting the Danube, Oder and Elbe rivers. It will cost 24.4 billion euros, connecting the landlocked Czech Republic to the Black, Baltic and North Seas and the ports of Hamburg, Sczeczin and Braila. However, it has drawn criticism for its environmental impact.
