Egypt’s $9.7BN New Nile Delta

Egypt is building a new Nile Delta. The project will divert agricultural wastewater from the Rosetta branch of the Nile into the world’s largest artificial river, where it will then be treated and used to irrigate 9,000 square kilometers of desert into a New Delta, increasing Egypt’s agricultural land by 23%, feeding its exploding population and helping solve its water scarcity problem.
