UE4.25 Niagara Lava Flow VFX
A sample of some flowing lava made in Niagara. The mesh emitter is pretty simple, with some scaling spheres and a little random acceleration at spawn. Linking the System Loop count to some math makes sure each particle is slightly shorter in Z than the previous ones.
The material used no texture maps, just different levels of noise, and merged the noise into a normal map using "NormalfromFunction" node. There's some panning UVs, some vector emissive glow from below, and the particle color from Niagara alters the diffuse and roughness as the lava "cools."
