Truck Drivers To Pay

The Minister of Works and Transport says new legislation has to be put in the place to penalise drivers who intend to go over the weight requirement for bridges and highway overpasses. Speaking at the commissioning of the Sou Sou Lands roadway, Minister Rohan Sinanan responded to an accident which took place at the Claxton Bay overpass on the Solomon Hochoy Highway on Wednesday. He said, as it stands, the fine for crossing the overpass is not a strong deterrent.
