Northeast LA: Audubon Center at Debs Park | Interview with Marcos Trinidad and Mika Perron
The Audubon Center at Debs Park is all about the connections between community and the landscape of northeast LA. With its people-focused approach to conservation issues, the center has become a central leader in the creation of a more diverse community of conservationists in Los Angeles. It is located within the 282 acre footprint of Deb’s Park, an urban hiking destination with beautiful vistas and natural landscapes. The center manages the volunteer driven Los Nogales Nursery, which produces native plants for restoration and for donation to the community. Gardens surrounding the headquarters include examples of locally native species, such as sage, walnut and sycamore as well as innovative water features and a demonstration Tongva village. Explore the beautiful landscape surrounding this forward thinking community space.
The Native Plant Garden Tour takes place April 16-18, 2021. Tickets at http://nativeplantgardentour.org
Many thanks to our Oak and Sage level sponsors LA Native Plant Source, Gottleib Native Garden, KPCC, Metropolitan Water District, and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
