In this video we will play from Sound Innovations String Orchestra Book 1 Page 36 Exercise Number 144 The metronome speed is 76. Whether you play violin, viola, cello, or double bass, as long as you have your own Sound Innovations book, you’re welcome to play along, listen and preview, or study this video! Practice everyday or on a regular consistent basis to get better at your instrument and to have more fun in the orchestra! I recommend listening to the entire video first, then try playing along. Be sure to click the like or thumbs up icon, then click subscribe! Share this video with another friend in the orchestra! Show your appreciation by sending me a tip to my venmo account at https://www.venmo.com/Jonathan-Cruz-274 Follow me on Instagram @joncruzmusic https://www.instagram.com/joncruzmusic/ BTW: I am a saxophone player, not a violinist, and my playing is far from satisfactory. I made these videos for my string orchestra students as reference, study/practice guide, and play along while we’re all under quarantine and distance learning. Some things may sound off and out of tune, and you’ll see my bow bouncing. I also did not know where to place my microphone. Placing the microphone farther away would have been ideal, but it would have picked up the hum and sounds of my air conditioning. Thus, the microphone is overhead above the sound holes. You may or will hear the bow bouncing, or the crunch sound my bow makes when I change bow directions, and once in a while you will hear me accidentally bow the wrong string. If you’re not a student of mine, you’re welcome to use my videos as a tool, reference, or study/practice guide. Lastly, if you are not one of my orchestra students and you have your own orchestra teacher or director, or your own private instructor, please follow and meet his/her expectations such as how to produce a quality sound, how to use the bow, how to hold the bow, posture, proper bow distribution, precise intonation, and finger/position recommendations. I recorded the video through my iphone, and all audio went through my audio interface. You may also see some alignment issues with the audio and video since I am not an experienced audio/video editor.
