Professional Climber: Teodor Tulpan at TEDxSibiu

He was born in 1971 in Sibiu. He studied in Sibiu, becoming a professional climber. He became a volunteer of "Salvamont" Sibiu in 1993, and continues to be so today. He is also a mountain guide and instructor. His first expedition was in 1996 at the age of 25, in the Pamir mountains. He continues with expeditions to the Caucasus (1997, 1998), Tien Shan (1999), Andes (2003), K2 (2004), Chopicalqui (2005), Kilimanjaro (2007, 2009), Mont Blanc (2007), Chopta (2008) and Star Mountain (2008). In 2002 he was selected in the Romanian team for climbing the world highest peak, Mount Everest in the Himalayas. In 2003 he takes part in the first Romanian expedition in the Himalayas. He was one of the first of five climbers who reached the top. He holds the world record for altitude launch paragliding. He led the first Sibiu expedition in 2009 in the Caucasus.
