Help in a crisis from the Employee Assistance Program
Helping employers respond to employees’ needs when a crisis strikes is part of the mission of the Employee Assistance Program. Critical incident response coordinators like Jill Bertz are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to help when there’s been an employee death, workplace accident, episode of workplace violence (like robbery or assault), or reduction in force. Critical incident response coordinators also swing into action for natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, or wildfires. Critical incident response services help employees understand their responses to trauma and find the care they need. They also help managers support employees while try to return the workplace to normal operations.
