Part 1: https://youtu.be/c9Taia6Nxmw White ash table had black stains from use as an aquarium stand. Some stain remained after planing off 2mm of wood. Therefore I experimented with Lee Valley Tools “Ebony Black” analine dye. This is a powder to be mixed with water. Three heavy coats of dye worked well, brushed on. Excess wiped off with rags — that eventually became plenty wet. During the second coat of dye, I lightly wire-brushed the wet surface to work the dye into some grain that was slow to darken. That solved the problem.
