My new homebrew 2 element KJ5VW trapped beam and a QSO with DL1GDS from KC2TAU

After much cutting,drilling and climbing up and down the step ladder my new 2 element beam is done! I'm really quite happy with how it works as I managed to talk to David with little difficulty even with 20 meters being so quiet. Throughout the day I said hello to Bob,G4UJS,as well as Jose,YV5OHM,and at the end of the day I tried calling CQ and Tom,W5TV,came back and said hello! It seems that the stations I worked didn't have much trouble copying me even with the antenna about 12ft or so above the ground. I assembled the antenna thanks to plans by KJ5VW which are located here: http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/~hansongr/Miniyagi.htm I made a few substitutions,though,using Sturdy Stakes(plastic covered steel rods)for the elements and 3/4" EMT steel tubing for the boom whereas everything else was pretty much to spec of the article. Since these are portable beams hopefully my friend Stephan,KC2UOK and myself set these up in the middle of our college campus for some good laughs as people walk by thinking that we're talking to aliens or something of the sort!
