But they are more than that. 'Anand Bhaskar Collective' ('ABC') was a studio project conceptualized by vocalist Anand, which later developed into a dedicated band. It comprises Ajay Jayanthi (violin), Shishir Thakur aka Tao (drums), Neelkanth Patel (bass), Chandan Raina (guitar), and Anand Bhaskar (vocals). The project initially took off with session artists and worked with an ever-changing line-up. It frustrated Anand as he was unable to bring together dedicated musicians. After completing the first album, he tentatively named the project 'ABC'. With a surprise studio offering titled ‘Samsara’ in 2014, Anand Bhaskar Collective (or ABC) rapidly became a staple diet for independent rock and Hindi-rock consumers in their home country, India.
