http://www.worldenglishteacher.com Improve your English with my free video lessons or buy private classes with me online on Skype. Transcript of this lesson: Hi, I'm Joel. I'm from the United States and I teach conversational English on Skype. In this lesson, I want to talk about a phrase... and that phrase is, "to grab a bite to eat." You can also just say, "to grab a bite." And some people might say, "to get a bite." And what this phrase means is simply, to get something to eat - to eat something. This refers to a small, light meal. It does not refer, in general, to going to a big restaurant and spending a lot of time and money and eating a lot of food. It refers to something like fast food or maybe a snack - something small. Okay, so let me give you some example sentences. "I'm hungry. Let's grab a bite to eat." "Yesterday I was really hungry and wanted to grab a bite to eat but realized I didn't have any money." "Why don't you say we go grab a bite to eat?" Okay, how about a couple more examples: "I usually grab a bit to eat before class." "My dad always grabs a bite to eat on his way to work." Okay, well I hope that this short video was helpful and that now you know a new expression in English. If you want to see more lessons or get private classes on Skype, visit my website WorldEnglishTeacher.com All right, thanks for watching.
