DOSBox ECE with FluidSynth on linux (debian based distros) apt-get install pkg-config apt-get install automake apt-get install libsdl1.2-dev apt-get install curl apt-get install libtool apt-get install p7zip-full apt-get install cmake apt-get install build-essential apt-get install libfluidsynth-dev https://blog.yesterplay80.net/dosbox-ece-en/ https://github.com/munt/munt unzip dosbox-ece unzip munt #build munt (mt32emu)# cd munt-master/mt32emu cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE:STRING=Release . make sudo make install copy munt-master/mt32emu/include/mt32emu folder to dosbox ece extracted source root folder #build dosbox ece# cd to dosbox ece extracted source root folder ./autogen.sh ./configure make go to src folder sudo ldconfig ./dosbox and exit, now you have ~/.dosbox folder and dosbox-ECE.conf inside http://www.arachnosoft.com/main/soundfont.php download Arachno SoundFont in sf2 format: http://www.arachnosoft.com/main/download.php?id=soundfont-sf2 extract arachno-soundfont-10-sf2.zip to a folder where you want to have your soundfont rename Arachno SoundFont - Version 1.0.sf2 to ArachnoSoundFont-Version1.0.sf2 (dosbox ece config doesn't accept filenames with spaces!) edit dosbox-ECE.conf and change: mididevice = fluidsynth midiconfig = 128:0 fluid.driver = alsa fluid.soundfont = PATH_TO_SOUNDFONT/ArachnoSoundFont-Version1.0.sf2 now run dosbox and enjoy! In the end you can do "sudo make install" to install this build of dosbox When you finish setting it up, use General MIDI or Sound Canvas or WaveBlaster (whatever your game supports for port 330) as your music device in DOS games.
