The MOSFET Body Effect, and how it isn't really an "effect", just an artifact of how we as circuit designers tend to apply voltages. This is also known as the "substrate bias effect". This video derives the expression for the body effect, and then introduces the body effect parameter, or body effect coefficient, typcially represented by gamma. This is part of my series on semiconductor physics (often called Electronics 1 at university). This is based on the book Semiconductor Physics and Devices by Donald Neamen, as well as the EECS 170A/174 courses taught at UC Irvine.
