Cloning Your Motorola HT1250 or HT750 Radio

Our Fire Department received several HT1250 LS radios from an ambulance service who recently upgraded their radios to new dual band digital 800mhz/analog VHF radios that can be used in our service area and an adjacent service area that uses digital. This will allow them to carry one radio instead of two. These "used" radios will be perfect for our volunteer fire department. They will replace damaged radios that have been taken out of service...but first we need to get them programmed. Special thanks to Lakes Region/St. Croix Valley EMS for giving us your radios! To clone these radios, you need a radio that is already programmed (master) and a radio that needs to be programmed (slave). You will need a cloning cable, available on eBay. 1. Turn both radios off and connect your cloning cable. 2. Turn on the slave radio. 3. With the master radio off, at the same time, push the 2 buttons above and below the PTT button and turn on the master radio. 4. Listen for the beep on the master radio and release the 2 buttons. The LCD display will say, "cloning to." 5. You will hear a beep on the slave radio and the LCD screen will say, "programming." 6. Once the cloning is complete, the radios will go back to normal functioning. NOTE: In order to clone the radios, they need to be exactly the same model. You can't clone an HT1250 with a keypad with an HT1250 LS. Same thing with the HT750. If you can't clone them, you'll need to get the Motorola software and programming cable. That works too but is a pain in the #%*&. Forum: https://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=52502
