Final Fantasy 8 OP on Disc 1 - Lionheart

We got some great luck after that short break. First try Adamantoise modded into Sphinxara, first try Cockatrice modded into Oilboyle, and first try after abolishing random Siren Card. Gargantua from Thrustaevis took some time so while I farmed for it I started the Obel Lake Sidequest. It gave me something to do, it's not really that important. We finally got to the Laguna Dream. This is why it was so important to be doing the grinding with Quistis and Selphie in your party. They should be above level 30 at this point, hopefully above 35, which will let you fight Elastoids that you can mug for Laser Cannons. You want at least 4 Laser Cannons before leaving. 3 to refine into Pulse Ammo, and 1 for Quistis to learn Homing Laser. While you are farming the Laser Cannons, mod the enemies too. Elastoid mods into Ultima Weapon, which is a GREAT card this early, and Gespers mod into Iguion, which is a weaker version of Minimog. We got pretty good luck on this grind as well, minus the Degenerator from Gespers. After getting both cards and the Laser Cannons, you can sprint back to Dollet to get your prize, the Lionheart. We're not done yet however. There's still a few more cards to farm. Up next is Tiamat. You can get Tiamat from the Grendels inside the forest that takes you to the Laguna Dream. If you hug the wall closest to Galbadia Garden while inside the forest you will always fight a single Grendel. Be sure to equip enough Thunder magic to your elemental defense to absorb it for some free healing occasionally. Grendels have a lot of HP for this early in the game, but overall they aren't that dangerous.
