Sexy Comic & Book Art...Gender Swapped!

If you haven't heard of The Hawkeye Initiative (you don't have the internet?), it's a website, sparked by popular web artist Gingerhaze to raw attention to how deformed, hyper-sexualized, and unrealistically posed/dressed women are drawn in comics by dropping hero, Hawkeye into those situations...with sexy results! Fantasy writer Jim C. Hines is on the same page in the world of fantasy novel covers, so he and other male sci-fi/fantasy writers emulated the poses of sexy women from another cover. So, let's take a look at Hines' cover as well as some Hawkeye Initiative highlights! Is there a difference between how men and women are depicted? Do you think the difference is funny? Offensive? Just plain impractical? My friend Kristen Nedopak, who has modeled and posed in battle armor, is back with her insight. -Kim P.S. Do yourself a favor and check out The Hawkeye Initiative! Even if you disagree about over-sexualization...it's a very entertaining site!
