News Update: GM's OnStar to read texts and Facebook status updates

For those of you whose constant need to be plugged in has been foiled by the "hands free" driving law, you may soon have the option of having your text message and Facebook status updates read to you out loud while you drive. USA Today reports that General Motors will offer the new "infotainment device" with the relaunch of OnStar. GM intends for the feature to not only inform and entertain, but to serve as a safety and security measure as well. The audio-voice feature would allow subscribers to verbally dictate their Facebook statuses and listen to recent news feed updates. OnStar's new ad campaign is set to launch later this month.
