PANCIT PALABOK | Delicious and Easy To Make |
Hi everyone, it’s me Daisy and welcome to my channel. Today, I’m going to make some Pancit Palabok. It’s a popular and delicious Filipino dish that I’m sure you will love. You will notice right away that this doesn’t look like the Pancit most people are used to seeing, but it’s a beautiful dish, full of flavor. You can serve as a meal or a snack. It’s also a wonderful dish for parties or any celebration. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
1 pouch Mama Sita’s Oriental Gravy Palabok Mix
600 ml unsalted chicken broth
150 grams minced pork
120 grams peeled shrimp
150 grams special palabok noodles or thin rice noodles
6 cloves garlic
1 ½ tbsp cooking oil
Salt
Pepper
Garnish:
2 boiled eggs
2 cups crushed chicharron
1 tbsp fried garlic
1 lemon
1 stalk spring onion
Steps:
1. Cut lemon into wedges and set aside.
2. Cut the spring onion into small pieces and set aside.
3. Crush, peel and mince the garlic and set aside.
4. Soak the rice noodles according to the instructions on the package. The noodles I used required 10 minutes.
5. Peel and slice the boiled eggs into wedges.
6. Dissolve the Palabok mixture into the chicken broth. Stir until fully dissolved.
7. Heat the pan on medium low heat and add oil.
8. Add garlic and sauté until it’s aromatic.
9. Add the shrimp, stir and add a few dashes of salt and pepper.
10. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes depending on the size of the shrimp.
11. Remove from the pan and set aside for later.
12. In the same pan, add the remaining oil.
13. Add garlic and sauté until it’s aromatic.
14. Add the minced pork and sauté until it turns brown and add a few dashes of pepper.
15. Add the chicken broth mixture and stir until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
16. While the broth cooks, boil the noodles per instructions on the package. Mine needed 10 minutes. While the noodles boil, stir to loosen them so they separate.
17. After they are boiled, turn off the heat and leave the noodles to soak for 30 minutes. Then drain them.
18. When the sauce thickens, turn off the heat
19. Transfer the noodles to the serving plate.
20. Add the sauce on top of the noodles.
21. Garnish with the Crushed chicharron, shrimp, eggs, fried garlic spring onions and lemon wedges.
22. Serve and enjoy!
