Anarchy [V for Vendetta]

A piece of work intended to artistically portray some of the background and insights for the graphic novel V for Vendetta. Alan Moore was enamored with the threat of the English fascism movement in the early 1980's, attending anti-nazi league meetings and considering what the world would be like if a fascist government ruled England. Concluding the opposite of fascism to be anarchy, he took it upon himself to portray the battle between the two in an art form "once removed" from what is actually being discussed. He fell in love with the black and white illustrations of his parables and the symbolism behind Guy Fawkes. The struggle is illustrated through the use of a swaying video in a tritone color scheme (black, white and gray), the flow from one musical section to another and random noise generators at the end as anarchy overcomes. Finally, it is portrayed by the sentences and bursts of text outlining what is happening in the soundtrack of the battle.
