Project Overview: Crop Residue Management and Tillage Impact on Soil Quality, Yield and Returns

The project described here will result in information on tillage-crop residue management systems that will provide the greatest benefit both to soil quality and the producers bottom line. In a corn-soybean rotation system that is becoming more widely used in the Midsouth, management of residue, especially that of corn, to optimize soil quality, grain yield, and net returns will become increasingly important. Management of this residue could involve some form of tillage.
