1:54 Reassembling your firepot
1. Ensure your grill is unplugged and cool.
2. Beneath the hopper, disconnect the purple wires Molex connector to the purple wires.
3. Open the grill and remove the grate, drip tray, and heat baffle to reveal the firepot.
4. Remove the 4 screws holding the firepot in place with a ¼” wrench or nut driver.
5. Side the firepot a little to the right, then twist it a half-turn counterclockwise so the lip resembles a diamond or star. This will free the hot rod from beneath the auger tube.
6. Lift the firepot up and out and remove the setscrew holding the hot rod to the firepot with a Phillips screwdriver.
7. Pull the hot rod out of the firepot and set the firepot aside.
8. Loosely fold a 2” piece of duct tape over the old hot rod and the new hot rod’s Molex connector to easily guide the new hot rod through the grill and into place.
9. Grab the old hot rod’s purple wires from under the hopper pull to remove the old hot rod, the duct tape will help thread the new hot rod and wire into place.
10. Remove the duct tape and plug the new wires into the purple wire Molex connector.
11. Put the new hot rod’s end into the firepot so only 1/8” to ¼” is visible in the bottom of the firepot.
12. Attach the setscrew.
13. Place the firepot back in place inside the grill so that the lip is in a star or diamond shape and the hot rod is pointing toward the front left of the grill.
14. Turn the firepot a quarter turn clockwise so it’s square, then shift it a little to the left to lock it in place.
15. Reattach the 4 mounting screws to lock the firepot in place.
16. Put the heat baffle, drip tray, and grill grate back in the grill and zip tie the wires beneath the hopper out of the way of the fans.
