2018 Sporting Chance Forum: The Human Rights of Workers

The 3rd annual Sporting Chance Forum on 12-13 December 2018 at UNESCO in Paris brought together over 300 high-level representatives from a broad range of stakeholders to drive progress toward a world of sport that fully respects human rights. Hosted by The Centre for Sport and Human Rights and Institute for Human Rights and Business, the Forum covered a diversity of geographies and types of people that can be negatively impacted by sport - including the rights of athletes, fans, workers, journalists, children, and a special spotlight on survivors of sexual abuse. This session featured reflections from: • Marie Barsacq (Head of Legacy, Paris 2024 Organising Committee) • Bernard Thibault (Board Member, Paris 2024 Organising Committee) • Jean-Lou Blachier (Vice President Confédération Générale des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises (CGPME)) • Ambet Yuson (General Secretary, Building and Wood Workers’ International) Moderated by: Giovanni Di Cola (Special Advisor to the Deputy Director General for Field Operations and Partnerships, International Labour Organization (ILO))
