CAN YOU HELP TWO HOMELESS CATS? This is Thursday. Last year he was trapped and neutered by a local TNR group (TNR = trap, neuter, release). They accidentally released him back into the wrong neighborhood, approximately sixteen miles from his home base. He adjusted by finding a caretaker in the new neighborhood - my friend, Marilyn. Soon, Thursday also found a best friend, a small black homeless male. We call him Tuesday. Tuesday and Thursday are best buddies. Thursday is the leader, Tuesday is the follower. Tuesday shows his affection by rubbing up against Thursday and licking his face. They are very sweet cats even though they're considered to be feral. Several of Marilyn's neighbors have started threatening her because she's been feeding Tuesday and Thursday. Two neighbors even followed her home and knocked on her door to complain. Other neighbors have posted signs in the alley, demanding that no one feeds the cats. The neighbors claim that the cat food is attracting other animals, which is silly because these cats come immediately for their food when it's put out, and they don't leave an ounce of it behind. While I was filming these videos, one of the neighbors came out to ask me what I was doing. She said she called the city to have the cats removed (in other words, euthanized, since they are feral). She said that if the city did not remove them, her dogs would. I'm not sure why so many people here feel threatened by these cats. I AM sure that the cats are in danger from these people, so they do need to be moved as soon as possible.
