Wakhan Trekker August - September, 2011 This is a true scouting mission - we will be some of the first travellers to return to this amazing and long unobtainable region, where we will take every opportunity to explore the local culture of the area and to meet its wonderful people. The air will be thin, the days will sometimes be long, but the rewards will be obvious and long lasting. This is a trip for real trekkers, in the spirit of be travellers. This is a pioneering trek to Lake Chaqmaqtin at the furthest reaches of the Wakhan Corridor in northeast Afghanistan. The majority of our time will be spent trekking beyond road's end at Sarahad e Broghil. Lake Chaqmaqtin is a sight few have seen and provides a beautiful backdrop for a rest day at our half way point. We believe in small group tours and the maximum we will take on this tour will be 10 people.
