A physics conference in Benasque, Spain, in December 2009. Organized by Loughborough University.

This is a video coverage of a physics conference "Terahertz radiation and metamaterials" held in Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual, Benasque, Spain, 15-22 December 2009, organized by Prof. Feo Kusmartsev from Loughborough. The town of Benasque is at the altitude of almost 2 km in Pyrenees. The video was filmed and compiled by Natalia Janson. It is not intended to convey the actual advanced physics ideas discussed at the meeting -- it would be hardly possible in a 13-minute video covering a few dozens of talks. Instead, it shows all participants and demonstrates the nice creative research and social atmosphere of the meeting. The idea has been to make the clip funny and to show what wonderful people the physicists are :-). Some technical information. The total duration of the raw videos was 22 hours, and the final clip is 13 minutes long. There were about 50 participants, and they all appear in the clip at least once. The music at the start is "jota" -- the music from Aragon region where the conference was held. The music at the end is "We'll meet again" by Vera Lynn, and "I wish you well" by Dean Reed.
