BMW E46 M3 Convertible - RACP Repair & Reinforcement Process

This video shows the Rear Axle Carrier Panel (RACP) Repair & Reinforcement Process on a 2002 BMW E46 M3 SMG Convertible with 93k. We show the Underside Repair (read more here: http://redish-motorsport.com/82.html and the Internal Repair (read more here: http://redish-motorsport.com/83.html As well as the structural repair/reinforcement work, we were asked to attend to (and treat) the surface corrosion on and around the RACP and surrounding panels. Then we carried out our paint protection process which includes degreasing, panel wiping, etch primer, high build primer, sprayable seam sealer, and body coloured paint: Phoenix Yellow. Once the paint processes were dried with infrared light, the cavities were heavily treated with Cavity Wax. Then during the rebuild process lots of new BMW genuine clips, bolts, fixings, washers, nuts, grommets were replaced as well as a lot of new replacement Genuine BMW Parts as per the following list: Rear Lower Arms Rear Lower Balljoints Rear Trailing Arm Bushes Rear Subframe Bushes Rear Anti Roll Bar Drop Links Rear Shock Top Mounts Rear Shock Absorbers Rear Eibach Springs Rear Exhaust Clamp Kit Rear Diff Bushes V-Brace Rear Caliper Bleed Nipples Exhaust Centre Nuts & Bolts Propshaft Rubber Coupling Fuel Filter Chassis Stud Gearbox & Fuel Filter Undertrays Engine Constant Pressure Valve Exhaust Downpipe Copper Nuts Front Xenon Headlight Potentiometer & Drop Link Front Centre Air Guide Rubber Engine Mounts Air Con Drive Belt Unseize the Steering Tie Rods PAS High Pressure Hose & new fluid Fuel Filler Neck Rubber Fuel Filler Cap Bonnet Safety Catch Antifreeze Change & bleed Rear Right Light Inner Cover Rear Light Side Cover Front Left Strut Brace Bracket Locking Wheel Bolt Dust Covers It was a really nice outcome, and a pleasure to work on this very original E46 M3 Convertible.
