Using supercomputers, private and public clouds to opportunistically run HTC and HPC applications

This talk will consider HTC and HPC using the PROMINENCE platform developed to provide fusion researchers with access to a range of computing resources derived from cloud facilities, and the critical importance of containers as a way of ensuring that scientific workloads can be run reliably and reproducibly anywhere across the clouds. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPEAKER Andrew Lahiff, UKAEA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYNOPSIS The opportunistic use of computing resources sources from private, academic and public clouds provides an infrastructure to support High-Performance Computing in most general terms. This can then be exploited across many different areas of science, engineering, finance, etc. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For overseas delegates who wish to attend the event please note that BCS does not issue invitation letters. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIS EVENT IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY: BCS Oxfordshire Branch Visit https://oxon.bcs.org
