The sculptures are done by young artists The Rosarium is a tasting garden for roses and is involved in the selection and development of good roses. In total there are about twenty thousand roses in the Rosarium in Winschoten of 320 different varieties. Nearly 80 percent of the world's production of roses is grown in the Winschoten region. Queen Máxima reveals and christen a new rose during a national symposium of the Dutch Rosary Society and the Oldambt municipality in the Rosarium in Winschoten. De sculpturen worden gedaan door jonge kunstenaars Het Rosarium is een proeftuin voor rozen en werkt mee aan het keuren en ontwikkelen van goede rozensoorten. In totaal zijn er in het Rosarium in Winschoten circa twintigduizend rozen te zien van 320 verschillende rassen. Bijna tachtig procent van de wereldproductie van rozenonderstammen wordt in de regio Winschoten gekweekt. Koningin Máxima onthult en doopt een nieuwe roos tijdens een landelijk symposium van de Nederlandse Rozenvereniging en de gemeente Oldambt in het Rosarium in Winschoten.
