Adobe Photoshop CS5 odd UI/window behavior

Since Photoshop CS4 Adobe decided to drop the typical rules for applications on Microsoft Windows: The backdrop of the main window covers the whole screen (MDI, multiple document interface) and yet the child elements aren't connected to the parent. Whoever built this should be forced to work with that setup in Visual Studio for a day.
