Howard K. Stern drops DNA appeal

Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Tuesday, April 3, 2007. Howard K. Stern is giving up on his attempt to stop the release of DNA results for Anna Nicole Smith's daughter. People magazine reports he withdrew his appeal to a Bahamian court after it seemed like it was going to reject it anyway. The 3 judges reportedly questioned Stern as to why he didn't make the request before the Supreme Court ordered the DNA test to determine the paternity of Dannielynn. The baby's DNA was tested last month but the results haven't been revealed yet Three men are recovering from gunshot wounds following an after-party for the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards. The Los Angeles Times reports a gunman fired shots early Sunday morning at a private party in Los Angeles. The man apparently started shooting when he wasn't allowed into the affair. Police say the 3 victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive. The event had no affiliation with Nickelodeon and was thrown by an undisclosed attendee. Real estate mogul Donald Trump is holding on to his hair. He triumphed Sunday night in Wrestlemania's "Battle of the Billionaires" against World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon. Trump's prize for winning...getting to shave McMahon's head. The two never actually battled it out, but professional wrestlers represented each in the ring. Bobby Lashley stood in for Trump and Umaga was McMahon's man. Actress and singer Mandy Moore is recovering from a fractured ankle. Her rep tells People magazine she hurt herself when she jumped from a boat in Mexico. That was during a shoot for Self magazine in February. Moore's been seen hobbling around and wearing a cast for the past few weeks. Oscar winning Actress Jodie Foster and the young Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin may be teaming up for a new film. They've almost reached a deal to star in an upcoming movie titled "Nims Island." It's based on a novel about a young girl traveling with her scientist father who gets lost at sea. The film is set to start filming this summer but there's no word on a release date. That's all for now.
